Broiler Placements In State Continue Downward Trend
Pennsylvania broiler placement continues to fall with 150000 fewer chicks started on feed, a 12 percent drop and 22 percent below last year. The 10 week average trails last year by nine percent while U S totals show slight growth. Outshipments average 260000 as Pennsylvania slaughters more than it produces, last week totaling 1445000 birds at 4.03 pounds.
