Six percent gain seen in Pennsylvania vegetable acres for 1975
Pennsylvania Crop Reporting Service estimates 1975 contract acreage for processing vegetables at 20 800 acres, up six percent. Snap beans 7 800 acres up 18 percent, sweet corn 5 600 acres down 15 percent, and tomatoes 7 400 acres up 16 percent. National totals show snap beans 302 530 acres down 1 percent, sweet corn 510 000 acres, tomatoes 368 000 acres up 11 percent. Strawberries 1 300 acres in PA. Spring harvest states total 37 610 acres, down two percent from 1974.
