Sales Tax License Applications Mailed To 250,000 Businesses
The secret ary of revenue announced licenses to collect the new 3 percent Sales and Use Tax are being mailed to over 250000 firms registered under the former act. With added taxable items and categories, total licenses may approach 350000 at a $2 fee. Forms available at district sales tax offices, chambers of commerce, or the Bureau in Harrisburg. First returns due by April 30. Regulations are in preparation. Seventeen categories of property are listed as taxable.
