Annual Ice Cream Festival Observed During June Dairy Month
Fulton Grangers held its annual ice cream festival at Oaklyn to observe June Dairy Month. The club produced 83 quarts of ice cream, with a committee including Mrs. Ira Welk Mrs. J Everett Kreider and Mrs. Charles Reath steering the effort. Grange members cranked both hand and electric freezers as Earl D Smoker manually turned a freezer until the can ran empty then found the batch still cold. Refreshments included strawberries. Mrs. J Stanley Stauffer Jr led a program and game splitting attendees into 12 birthday groups each to craft a milk promotion slogan.
