County Pork Producers Set July 1 Field Day in Elizabethtown
Lancaster County Swine Producers Association plans a July 1 field day at 10 am on Masonic Homes Farm Elizabethtown. A Lancaster County Pork Queen will be chosen to compete for the state title at Penn State July 8 as part of Swine Field Day activities. Host Jim Horton will guide county events and the youth judging winner receives a purebred Berkshire or Duroc pig from the Masonic herd. Lunch features ham sandwiches and drinks provided by the association.

Local Farmer Heads to Europe for Poland Visit
Mr and Mrs Henry H Hackman of Mannheim plan a seven week trip starting in July to Poland with stops in Germany Yugoslavia and Austria. The purpose is personal contact with Edmund Apolinarski supervisor of a 7000 acre govern ment farm near Poznan. The trip follows a 1960 cultural exchange and a 1962 visit. Hackman aims to observe changes in Polish agriculture.
