Local Visit Explores Incineration as Waste Option at Shippensburg Plant
A tour organized by Donald A Harter examined the Shippensburg plant with Kennedy Van Saun as builder and a 6000 pounds per hour capacity. Attendees included Penn State Extension staff, local supervisors, industry reps, and officials from Lancaster Manufacturers and the Department of Environmental Resources to assess incineration versus landfill.
