A group of 79 Future Farmers and their teachers will travel early Wednesday to Pennsylvania State University for three days June 13 to 15. The event includes judging contests demonstrations chorus and public speaking with about 1500 participants expected.
Jerry Snader, a nine real veteran in 4 H Club work, won a blue ribbon in the strawberry roundup at the county event. The 15 year old son of Mrs Eva Snader took honors in both the exhibit and project book score phases. His project book score reached 98.5 out of 100. This marked the first time in four years the Overgaard family did not win. The event was held at Hotel Brunswick, with moisture affecting some crops.
County 4 H councils elected new executive boards for the coming year. Elvin Hess and Shirycaune were named presidents of the two part board at Thursday night sessions. The Agriculture Council overseeing the county program also announced leadership for the year.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association plans a second annual sale next week to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Fund. About 24 members donate services and profits from merchandise sales will go to the fund. Donations or commission items may be arranged through J Omar Landis.
The forecast calls for temperatures two to six degrees below normal for the next two days with nights near 61 and afternoons around 81. Little change expected overall with light precipitation possible as showers Monday and Tuesday. County rainfall Tuesday ranged from under a quarter inch at oat Late Harbor to 1.43 inches in Mount Castle and 2.42 inches at Tantaster Water Works Station.
