Red Rose Beef Club votes to keep present steer plan
Red Rose Baby Beef Club members voted 61 percent to keep the current distribution method where each member draws a steer and the county extension office purchases all animals. One alternative would have mandatory self purchase, while one other proposed a compromise. Veterinarian Dr Sam Guss advised on cattle health and feeding, stressing observation and stress management. The next meeting, a joint fair with Adams County, is set for June 29 at Abbottstown Fair Grounds.
