Daniel L Martin of Manheim PA was elected June 1 by the Inter State Milk Producers Cooperative board to fill the unexpired term of B Snavely Garber Willow Street who retired. Martin farms 168 acres with 45 purebred Holstein cows 45 heifers and 20 bulls yearly and grows wheat and tobacco for cattle feed. He joined in 1963 served two years as Lititz Local delegate to the cooperative’s annual meeting and the past year as District 7 president. He married in 1945.

Frey Cow Tops All-Time State Butterfat Record
A Holstein cow owned by J. Mowery Frey & Son at Fultonway Farm produced 30 863 pounds of milk and 1 388 pounds of butterfat in 365 days setting a new Pennsylvania state butterfat record in the Holstein Friesian Association herd testing program. The 5 year 6 month old cow, Fultonway Ivanhoe Rae VG, milking twice daily, broke the prior all time state mark in mature Holsteins. The record was discussed during the Holstein-Friesian Association executive council meeting at State College as Lancaster County bid to host the 1967 convention.
