June 1 1966 cattle report shows slaughter steers mostly steady to 50c lower and cows up to 50c higher. Feeder steers and calves mixed with vealers steady to higher. hogs mostly higher with US 1-2 190-240 lb at 27 per hundredweight and other weights near 26 to 28.
Auctions report cattle market activity with 598 head including 1300 lb cows at 27.25 to 28.25, high choices 26.50 to 27.50, calves 31 to 39.50 and utilities 24 to 26.50. Bulls and small lots show varied gains while vealers drop up to 1.00.

Cattle receipts for the week show 18309 against 21800 last week and 18700 a year ago. Twelve market receipts total 154800 versus 179400 a week ago and 151100 a year ago. Slaughter steers sold mostly steady in slow trading. heifers steady to 25 higher. cows up 25 to 50. bulls fully steady. In dressed meat trade steer and heifer beef figures continue on page 9.
