Agronomy Field Day Draws Crowd at State College
About 250 farmers attended Penn State's Agronomy Field Day at the university's 190 acre research farm eight miles west of State College. The event highlighted small grains varieties management forage crops and weed control with no tillage methods. James Beattie noted crownvetch savings of 1.6 million annually to the Pennsylvania Transportation Department.

She is active in Bible club chorus National Honor Society Norlebco 4 H Dairy Club and the Pennsylvania Junior Ayrshire Club. First Alternate Brenda Bollinger is a 1975 graduate of a local school and member of Norlebco 4H Dairy Club.

George Blankley of Bunge Corp told 125 grain dealers and millers in Lancaster that corn wheat and soybean prices may fall if weather holds. He forecast soft red wheat exports and a record soft red winter crop near 370 million tons, with a 16 percent rise in wheat, and stressed export coordination to avoid a surplus.

Debbie Myers, a onetime Cumberland County 4-H participant now living in Ephrata, has become a 4-H leader.
