Lancaster County FFA shines at Penn State contest

Lancaster County FFA entries totaled 94 with 21 gold medals 12 silver and 14 bronze. Six members earned trips to national contests in Kansas City Missouri the Eastern States Exposition in Springfield Massachusetts and the Atlantic Rural Exposition in Richmond Virginia.

Farm Calendar Highlights July Events and FFA Winners

Farm Calendar lists Kutztown Folk Festival July 3 to 10 and a July 6 fishing trip to Rock Hall Maryland for Manheim Young Farmers. It notes a Lancaster County Farmers Association board meeting, a July 11 poultry processors lunch and a soil and water district meeting, a July 8 Harvestore New York Dairy Tour, and a July 9 Keystone Sheep Show with top placings. FFA Activities Week produced Land judging and Small Gas Engine winners including Dave Aument Amos Lauder and Tony Haldeman with top honors and prizes.

Miss Krantz Plays National Dairy Pageant in Chicago

Marilyn Krantz of New Providence, Pennsylvania, competed in the National Dairy Princess contest at Palme House in Chicago. Minnesota won, Nebraska was runner-up, and Krantz enjoyed meeting fellow contestants while judging ran Wednesday with coronation rehearsal and the pageant finale.
