Fulton Grange 66 held its January 23 meeting in Oaklyn with Master Clifford W. Holloway Jr. presiding. The Charter was draped for Mrs Maude A Christie. The Peapickers lead the contest. home economies will run a refreshment stand at the Maurice Grege sale April 1 and chair the April 8 roast turkey supper. The Hobo show planning group is Richard Nye, Miss Mabel Brabson and Charles McSparran. The Youth Committee will host a Hat A Rama at Grange Hall on Tuesday in February.

Tobacco season begins as six buyers bid
Unseasonal weather in Lancaster County spurred tobacco buying with American Tobacco Co and P Lorillard Co fielding buyers. Prices offered ranged from 31 to 26 cents for wrapper and 18 to 15 cents for filler leaf. Six buyers were active by Thursday, including Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Co and three independents, with sales centered in central and southern areas and some 25 cent straight stripped offers reported.
