Northern Tractor Club elects Hess president at Landis Brothers visit
The Northern 4-H Tractor Club named Elvin Hess of Bareville R4 as president at a meeting held with Landis Brothers Machinery Co. In attendance were officers David Denlinger, Robert Hlinger, and Dale Clymer, with Andrew Nissley and Ed Porter as adult leaders. The club schedules its next meeting for January 19 at Haverst brothers Farm Equipment, and new members will enroll January 16 at 7 30 pm. Additional county meetings include the Northern Tractor Club at Matz Farm Machinery in Denver, the Southern Tractor Club at Conestoga Farm Service in Quarryville, and a 1 30 pm pesticide program for 1961 by Penn State specialists at various sites.

Livestock Grading Be Discussed At NeffsVille Meeting
Livestock producers, marketing agents, packers and others are invited to a January 17 meeting at the John Neff School Neffs ville four miles north of Lancaster on Rt 501 at 7 30 p m. The program would cover voluntary grading of feeder pigs calves veal calves and market lambs similar to Virginia and West Virginia. Grading would be optional and paid for by the market operator or seller.

Herb Heberlein, vocational agriculture teacher at Solanco High School, was elected president of the Lancaster County Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association. He succeeds Garland Gingerich of Penn Manor High School. Other officers include Marlin Henninger as vice president, Robert Herr as secretary, and Joseph McGahen as treasurer. Defense Unit Is Headed By Martin Muth
W. Martin Muth of Lititz R4 has been named chairman of the Lancaster County Emergency Planning Committee for the U S Department of Agriculture. Muth serves as a Work Unit Conservationist with the U S Soil Conservation Service in Lancaster. The USDA emergency organization reports to the Office of Civil Defense and Mobilization and would direct all federal agricultural programs during a post attack defense alert.

Five Day Weather Forecast With Minor Temperature Swings
