Master plan unveiled for new Farm Show complex in Pa
State Agriculture Secretary Leland H. Bull announced a master plan for a multi level Farm Show complex to be shown at the 55th Farm Show January 11 15. The plan covers a 290 acre site between Interstate 81 and Elmer ton Avenue with two level main buildings, a 550000 square foot exhibition area and two arenas. The design aims for easy site access, a loop road, a weather protected spine, flexible use, and advanced systems including a controlled atmosphere and automated waste removal.

Farm Credit Office Cuts Interest to Eight Percent
The Lancaster area Farm Credit Office announces an automatic one percent rate cut to eight percent for mortgage loans effective now. Loans written in the last six months and those already higher than eight are adjusted, while older loans under eight stay unchanged. Isolate Show Birds After Farm Show to Prevent Disease
Jay W Irwin warns poultrymen that show birds exposed to diseases should be isolated from the main flock for at least 30 days after the Farm Show. Most infections occur before the 30 day mark. recovered birds may remain carriers of diseases like coryza and fowl cholera, so vaccination and vigilance are advised. Look for a coccidiosis outbreak one to three weeks after returning birds home.
