Volunteer solicitors for the Farm Gifts Division of the Farm and Home Foundation campaign report encouraging early support in 30 of 39 districts in X county. Automated floor bird houses rival cages in county

ASCS Formation Meetings Preview Tobacco Referendum

Lancaster County Agri Stabilization and Conservation Service held a series of meetings at the Paul Mne Center to inform farmers about the pending tobacco referendum and the 1965 feed program. Speakers Richard Pennay and Raymond Connally outlined how the feed grain program reduced carry from 85 million tons to about 45 million, using farm examples to illustrate diverted acreage and costs for the 1964 crop.

USDA Adds New Bovine TB Free Qualifications

The USDA adds two new methods to the established criteria for designating and maintaining bovine tuberculosis free areas in cattle. Approved by USDA on recommendation from the US Livestock Sanitary Association, the changes let states or areas qualify as bovine tuberculosis free.
