Farm Safety Committee Reviews Agricultural OSHA Standards
The 30 member National Advisory Committee on Safety in Agriculture discussed proposed OSHA standards for Insecticide Field Reentry Safety Intervals and Limited Field Reentry and approved standards for Permanent Housing for Temporary Agricultural Labor Camps. They urged no temporary housing standards and heard ANSI applicability reports. The panel urged USDA OSHA collaboration and prioritizing life-threatening areas, practical workable rules, and strong safety education. Lloyd Davis acted as chair in J Phil Campbell's absence.
