Forage Quality Not a Cure for Butterfat Shortfall
Dr Richard S. Adams of Pennsylvania State University warned dairymen and feed representatives that very high quality hay and silage can worsen milk butterfat. He noted that high grain feeding with restricted forage may fail to maintain butterfat levels as rumen digestion of fibre lags. Minimum forage needed is about one to one-and-a-half pounds per hundred pounds of cow body.

County Future Farmers Named To Receive Keystone Degrees
Twenty seven Lancaster County farm boys, members of the Future Farmers of America, are nominated by the FFA State Advisory Council for the Keystone Farmer degree. Investiture ceremonies are planned for January 9 at the FFA State Convention during the 1968 State Farm Show.
