Southeastern Pa to Host 1970 State Plow Contest
The US Soil Conservation Service board in Harrisburg voted to hold the 1970 State Plowing Contest in Southeastern Pennsylvania with the site to be decided. Contests will include small plow contour big plow and a women's invitational. Poultrymen urged to back Aiken Bull and face higher costs
Homer Bicksler of the Pa Federation told Lancaster County Poultry Association directors that poultrymen should support the Aiken Bull on egg processing inspection. He noted six percent freight rates now raise feed costs by 50 cents per ton, about 400000 dollars yearly for Northeast producers. He asked Poultrymen to assist at the January Farm Show food booth in Harrisburg.
