Tobacco Crop Progress With August Update and Flower Show

The tobacco crop improved with rapid growth and August 1 progress near normal. Most fields are in good shape though moisture is needed to sustain a good year. Pomona lecturer Miss Marie Murphy plans a talent show after the picnic and a flower show was hosted by Mrs Norman Wood. Winners included Mrs Ray McSparran for potted plants and Miss Rebecca Kirk for miniature arrangement. The lecturer Charles McSparran led the program with a talk on Art and Rural Landscaping by Mrs Adeline Edwards.
