Dairymen should gradually introduce cows to pasture, starting with 15 to 30 minutes and extending grazing time, to protect milk quality. Emphasis on proper milk handling, bulk tank cooling, and farm storage to avoid flavor or quality problems with dairy buyers.
Teachers from four counties completed a Penn State University dairying course. Directed by Dr. Glenn Stevens, it serves as a model for statewide use to improve vocational agriculture instructors and assist dairy farmers.
