Lancaster County Soil and Water Conservation District invites Lancaster County senior high students in grades 10 to 12 to enter a photo contest. Categories cover Beautiful Areas of the Environment, Ugly or Unpleasant Aspects, and a Photo Story. Prizes: first $50, second $25, third $10. Entries due October 20 with name address title and category on back.

Health Planning Council launches fund drive in Central Pennsylvania
Southcentral Pennsylvania Health Planning Council kicked off a fundraising campaign led by E Nelson Read. Dr J Finton Speller praised the effort and pledged support for Comprehensive Health Planning as gifts totaling over $3,000 arrived from York Adams Respiratory Health Association and Educators Mutual Life Insurance Company. The drive aims to raise 63,000 to expand affordable health care across Adams Cumberland Dauphin Franklin Lancaster Lebanon Perry and York counties.
