PFA Backs Cuts to Trim 1974 USDA Spending
The group endorses Administration cuts except for CSRS and REAP, calls restoring 14.3 million to CSRS, and suggests a REAP cost sharing program up to 100 million. Net effect: a 386 million reduction in USDA outlays for 1974, with further cuts projected for 1975 and beyond. Pitzer urges a nationwide campaign to curb federal spending and curb inflation without new taxes.
