Young man arrested for stealing water valves at fairgrounds
Fred Stratt was arrested by Chief H J Wallace for stealing seven brass valves from water pipes at the fair grounds. Valves were sold to a junk dealer for 65 cents. Stratt admitted selling them and said they were given by another man. authorities are seeking that person as Mayor Repass and Chief Wallace investigate further.

Four Deaths In Family From Typhoid Fever
Milton F. May, a cousin of Clerk of Courts Tobias, died at East Hingeld Saturday morning from typhoid fever. He is the fourth family member to succumb in six weeks. The theatre records list Georgia Minshall May, 16, who died January 27, Mary May, 21, who died February 27, and Clyge May, 24, who died March 7. Two other family members are ill with the disease.
