A bi touring car with three men entered Rockbridge at dawn and raided a hog pen, killing two hogs and stealing a car full of hogs. The thieves fled undetected, and the incident was discovered when the owner went to feed the hogs. Efforts will be made to apprehend the criminals.
Miss Mattie Grimes of Athens, recovering from an appendectomy at the city hospital, was yesterday moved to her sister Mrs. BE H. Rardin’s home on East Chestnut Street. She will remain several weeks before returning to her Athens residence.
Mrs James Dodds of North Columbus Street learns from Los Angeles California that her brother Thomas Ryan has died. The body will be sent to Circleville for burial and is expected to arrive Sunday. Mrs Dodds plans to travel to Circleville for the obsequies.
Prisoner Will Termpleuiat, not yet serving a jail sentence, grew very ill Tuesday night with stomach trouble. He has been under care by Dr. I M Stuckey and was reported slightly improved today.
Funeral services are set for Elizabeth Ann Schuler who died Tuesday in Columbus. Services will be Friday at 10 o clock at St. Leo s Church Columbus. Burial will be in Mt Cavalry Cemetery. She was a sister of Mrs. C A Carr of Sugar Grove.
Dr Cherrington of Logan consulted with Dr Raver in the case of Mrs Wmn Crutcher of Lake Street. A minor operation was performed and the patient, who had been ill for ten to twelve weeks, is now slowly recovering. Mrs Crutcher was visiting her children in Michigan where she had been sick for eight weeks.
Senator George S20 Cunningham supported Reynolds’s bill granting women the right to vote for president. It passed the Senate by a slim majority on Wednesday afternoon. Cunningham also backed Blauser’s bill on placing quail on the song hind jet and protecting them forever.
The Knights of Maccabees will hold a regular meeting on Friday evening February 16 at 7 50. All AUL members are urged to attend. a card party and smoker will follow the business meeting.
Sheriff smetters will take Renna Moody to the Ohio Penitentiary on Friday to begin his indeterminate sentence of from one to fifteen years for assault with intent to commit rape.
Probate Judge and Mrs. FL M. Acton will leave Friday morning for New Orleans to attend Mardi Gras events. The festival opens Saturday the 11th and runs through Friday the 17th.
The G A R are requested to muster at the Armory Saturday at 9 o'clock for Comrade John Fisher's funeral at 10 o'clock from his home on Frederick Street. Thomas Crutcher and wife returned to Wyandotte, Mich., after a three week visit with his mother.
