Salaries of 200 Workmen Hinged on County Action
In Lancaster on May 11 1933 work was halted on all Work Relief projects awaiting county supervisor action on a resolution to provide extra funds for wages. About 200 Lancaster men were told to stay on site until Tuesday with pay dependent on favorable supervisor votes.

Sum of small deposits after bank holiday shared by many
Out of the Past Marolds worked all day Sunday and all checks were in the post office the following day. This money comprises funds deposited since the bank holiday and five percent of money deposited prior to that time, providing the five percent had not already been withdrawn. Approximately 3,000 depositors shared in the distribution this week. While it is safe to say none of the checks reaching depositors were made out in four figures, many were for ten cents or less. A majority represented accounts that had been neglected or forgotten.
