Vision screening lapse risks license suspensions for NY drivers
New York motorists with expired licenses between March 1 2020 and August 31 2021 who deferred vision tests risk suspension unless they complete a 20 40 vision screening. Over 150000 drivers have not yet complied. Options include an approved provider vision test that updates the DMV Vision Registry, or a non approved provider test with MV 619 by mail to Erie County Auto Bureau. Free in person testing is available at Erie County Auto Bureau with appointments recommended.
