A Life Remembered Dick Young of Lancaster

A lifelong Lancaster figure known for a lively boyhood on Broadway and School Street, Dick Young built a diverse life from grocery shop errands to ownership of Murphy's building. He valued teachers, Navy service in Korea, and led local fire truck ventures while earning community praise and a local sandwich named in his honor. He will be missed in Lancaster.

Lancaster plaque recovered honors village leaders legacy

A Civil War plaque stolen during an online scam was recovered by the Lancaster Police Department and Chief William Gummo after a report filed by Sutton. The relic, originally placed near town hall in 1913, will be cleaned before deciding its final display, with a replica already located at Veteran's Park. Proclamations were issued to Ruda and Maciejewski for their eight years of service, praising partnerships with state and county officials and noting downtown revitalization projects and new businesses.
