Newstead marks bicentennial with week of events and time capsule
Newstead celebrates 200th birthday with a week of free events starting June 30 at Russell Park. The Akron Community Band marks the occasion with a concert, while town committees host farm shows, garden walks, history displays, a scavenger hunt, and a big Fourth of July parade. Local officials credit sponsors for funding as residents and visitors enjoy concerts, parades, food trucks, and family activities through July 9.
