A historic blizzard blanketed Erie County and Western New York with up to 52 inches of snow and 70 mph winds, triggering a county wide driving ban and widespread power outages. Village EMS and DPW crews coordinated warming centers at the Senior Center and West End Fire Station to shelter 50 plus and 16 respectively, while responders aided stranded motorists and medical patients.
