Lancaster Depew to update Comprehensive Plan with $30000 grant
Lancaster Mayor Lynne Ruda announced authorization to sign papers accepting a $30,000 grant from the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning. The funding, led by Lancaster with Depew participation, will update the village focused Comprehensive Plan. The Town of Lancaster did not join the grant, so updates will center on village needs. Lancaster highway chief readies for Western New York winter
Lancaster's highway superintendent John Pilato says he, deputy Michelle Barbaro and two crew chiefs John Smith and Gary Gallagher are building a maintenance program for retention ponds, preparing for drainage issues and roads to mill and pave. They’ve held emergency-planning meetings with the Office of Emergency Management and Lancaster Police to prepare for storms, and street signs have been upgraded for high visibility. Normal winter services are running with daily brush pickup.

Improvements planned for Depew sewer system 2024
Depew village advances a 2024 sewer upgrade after a SEQR found no environmental harm. The project, led by the village board with NYSDEC, aims to reduce inflow and infiltration and renovate the Walden Transit sewer network at 3556 Lake Shore Road Hamburg near the former Bethlehem Steel HQ.
