Redistricting reshapes West Seneca in NY 26th district
The new bipartisan map places West Seneca entirely in New York’s 26th District, ending dual representation by Nick Langworthy and Brian Higgins. Higgins’ resignation opens a vacancy with a special election set for April 30, 2026, to be filled by Democrat Tim Kennedy, while Republicans await a candidate. The map overall slightly favors Democrats and faces review by state lawmakers during recess.
