Rotary names honorary members in Lamesa
The Lamesa Rotary Club elevates two former inactive presidents to honorary members Will Morris and Hayes Walker. Morris joined in 1945 and led the club in 1963 64, including an exchange with Ciudad Acuna that yielded a woven serape and cross border programs. Walker joined in 1944 and presided in 1948 49, supporting a high school band uniforms project and a Forrest Park landscaping gift.

Auto dealers suffer losses in weekend break-ins
Weekend vandalism damaged Tommy Thompson Ford with about 25 broken windows totaling 250 dollars. A 1981 Chevy pickup on Fred Barrington’s lot had a broken windshield worth 286 dollars. Bolton’s Finn suffered 400 dollars in rear window damage to a 1975 Monte Carlo. Theater dance at the high school saw tires punctured on two vehicles, including a police unit, totaling around 295 dollars. An 18-year-old arrested for public intoxication is being questioned over tire damage. Glenn Tyson reported 42.50 dollars in damage to a travel trailer fire. Preston Hill, 19, is charged with burglary after police found him removing a gasoline nozzle at Philips Station. A back door was opened during the incident. Keith McCormick at Mac’s Mini Mart reported a disturbance Sunday evening.
