One Car Crash Totals Mustang Mach I. Driver Seriously Hurt

A Mustang Mach I was totaled in a single vehicle crash near Sparenburg Thursday morning. Russell Clayton Ball, 19, of Route 1 Ackerly, was hospitalized in serious condition after a left rear tire blew out and the car skidded into a bar ditch, flipping multiple times. The incident was investigated by Department of Public Safety officer Gary Hill and Arvin Kilpatrick.

Dawson County Fair Plans Nearing Completion

Plans for the Dawson County Fair move ahead with setup Tuesday as the barn clears and equipment shifts in. The event scheduled September 13 to 16 aims to top last year with added attractions, 60 trophies, and increased prizes including a new 250 cash award funded by local sponsors. A Children’s Barnyard and a broader horse show are among new features, with participation open to all ages. Dawson County Auto Insurance Rates See Mixed Changes

Horse Club Awards Event Scheduled

The annual 4-H Horse Club Award Bar-B-Que will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Forrest Park Community Center. High Point individuals and runners-up in about 20 classes will receive trophies across senior, junior and pee wee divisions. Over 175 people are expected. A special “Friend of the 4-H Horse Club” award will be named.
