The town also notes beddings, underwear, shoes, and bicycles as part of the seasonal shopping surge, with local events and personnel updates sprinkled through Lamar's scene.
The town of Lamar Colorado enacts an ordinance prohibiting riding bicycles on sidewalks, requires riders and team drivers to keep to the right, rings bells at night, and limits riding speed to ten miles per hour. Violations incur arrest by the city marshal and fines from three to five dollars, with jail time until fines are discharged. The ordinance takes effect five days after publication in The Lawarster. The Woodmen will organize a basket picnic in the grove north of town on Wednesday October 12. There will be races sports speeches and music with a dancing pavilion and refreshments. Genera Browning and Dr. Hughes will attend. Everyone invited to bring baskets and enjoy the day. Local ads promote groceries hats hosiery shoes and loan services from E Pike Irwin Johnston and others.
