Lamar Union Hotel Opens With Banquet and Ball
Citizens of Lamar and Prowers County funded the Lamar Union Hotel project after early efforts to attract capital. The hotel, costing about $13,000, is finished with new furniture and beds, and was officially opened by a banquet and dance with judged remarks praising the future of Lamar. Credit is given to A. E. Bent and L. Wirt Markham for their leadership.
