Ladies Aid Social at Mrs Bent’s Enjoys Greeting Evening

The Ladies Aid social at Mrs J W Bents last Friday evening was a great success. Mrs Bent and her sister Mrs McClain welcomed guests and ensured everyone enjoyed the event with games and coffee and wafers. The Gal l aday troupe performing Lost in London drew mixed reviews, with praise for the Teddy part and skirt dance but overall limited talent.

County Teachers Meet in Lamar Sees Strong Attendance

The first county teachers meeting of the year met at the Lamar school last Saturday. Bad weather kept some away but attendance was more than three times last year’s first meeting and interest was high. The group plans monthly meetings for about five months and notes many schools will be busy with close of term activities. The next session is scheduled for Saturday December 10 with a program listed in this issue.

The fifteenth session will be held at Lamar public school on Saturday December 10 1898 with 1 PM start. Papers cover Sensations on the Five Senses Mental Elaboration Attention and Perception through the Senses and feature discussions led by local teachers.
