The Madison Square Theatre Co brings a two week run to Galladay's hall in La Junta with the same repertoire as in Pueblo. The program combines drama with moving pictures, songs, and stereopticon effects. Tickets are 80 cents and strong patronage is expected.
Major Rowley moved to the Fred Carstens farm. Ira Swadley recovers from muscular rheumatism after a recent attack. A robust corn and late grain stand promises a phenomenal crop. The national emblem rises on the schoolhouse belfry thanks to W. P. James. The school closed Friday with a bountiful patron dinner and creditable recitations. Prof. Van Tyne and wife aided the exercises. Superintendent Barnes offered guidance.
The Original C. F. Leslie Singers and Bridges Bros Convention Co of Chicago present a free concert at the M. E. Church tonight May 14 to organize a musical convention in Lamar. All are cordially invited.
Sealed bids for the erection of the new Odd Fellows hall at Granada will be received by the Granada Lodge I O O F committee up to noon on Tuesday May 17 1898. Plans and specifications may be seen at J K Mayfield’s store in Granada. Committee members are J L Mavriexp Frank Miiisurn and W A Merrit.

Chas Reimers and Wm Winn tried for theft from James Reid’s barn and a telegraph outfit wagon. Winn discharged, Neimers bound over to district court.
