Fourth of July Celebration at Lamar a Grand Success

A large crowd attended Lamar’s Fourth of July events with Las Animas leading the morning procession and speeches by W. O. Butler and J. B. Traxler. About 2,000 watched afternoon races including Veteran, Indian, and Navajo winners. A grand dance pavilion and local bands provided entertainment. visitors from Las Animas and Granada joined in picnics, feasting, and music.
