Vestibule trains between Chicago and Denver will carry chair car and Pullman through without change. Local express trains will have first and second class coaches, tourist sleepers and Pullman sleepers. A ten percent fare reduction applies to round trip tickets. G I Ggavix Agent Lamar.
Multiple notices from the U S Land Office Lamar Colorado dated Feb 2 and Feb 25 announce complaints against homestead entries for abandonment and noncultivation. Officials cite irrigation failures and lack of trees, summoning parties to appear April 1 to testify and respond at the office.
Complaint by John Duncan against George W Graham for failure to plant trees on Timber Culture Entry No 4 in section 24, Township 24 North Range 41 West. Contested claim alleges abandonment since 1845 and lack of irrigation. A separate protest by Leo B Hutchins against Mat Graham over Timber Culture Entry No 797 cites three years without trees or cultivation. Notices summon parties to appear April 1 to respond.
The Farmers Institute at Wells school house drew strong attendance with C. E. Billingslea as chairman and J. K. Stevenson as secretary. Sessions covered alfalfa cutting and feeding, cantaloupe marketing, three-crop wheat, poultry profit, farm ornamentation, and hog corn alfalfa profitability.
