The Cap and Captain Rosenbaum in Chicago Burglaries
A socialite narrator recounts nights at Chicago gatherings where a burglar alarm and Captain Rosenbaum, a suave guest, become linked to a spree of jewel thefts. The twist reveals Rosenbaum as Jack Randolph, a New York detective who arrests the narrator and co-conspirators, sealing the narrator’s eight year stay in a guarded institution.
