Proposed Amendment to Colorado Constitution

Political intrigue and alleged backroom deals in Prowers county

In Granada on September 1 1896 a letter exposes covert actions by Feast Burke and others to fuse populists with Higbee for county offices. It accuses Democratic operatives of scheming to sway delegates, manipulate conventions, and betray Clark Walker and other party members. The note predicts Burke's likely nomination and Walker's defeat.
