Crime in Laguna Woods Village Drops in 2014 Report
The Laguna Woods Village Security Division reports 189 crimes in 2014, down from 285 in 2013, a 34 percent decline. Petty thefts fell from 137 to 105, auto thefts from 4 to 2, grand thefts from 13 to 11, and residential burglaries from 2 to 1. Overall moving violations dropped 28 percent from 1882 to 1343, with speeding citations 436 (down from 598) and stop sign violations 816 (down from 1127). Unlicensed driver violations also fell from 105 to 69, reflecting stronger patrol collaboration with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
