United Mutual board candidates file for three open seats
Six candidates Ming Lee Chang Howard Klein Anthony Liberatore Eva Lydick Bill Ring and Al Roddan filed nomination papers for three open United Mutual Board seats held by directors Mike Comer John Parker and Al Roddan. Ballots go to residents August 30 with a September 30 deadline and counting at 1 30 p m October 2 at a Special Open Board meeting.

Laguna Woods 2014 budget talks trim costs across mutuals
Round three budget meetings in Laguna Woods saw Third Mutual United Mutual and Golden Rain Foundation seek ways to lower 2014 expenses. Proposed monthly assessments note increases of 28.18 and 24.60 per manor, with about 15 of each slated for GRF contributions. GRF voted to rebate part of an $861,000 surplus, reducing mutuals’ assessments by 1 per manor. Some directors opposed, warning about possible large future expenditures.
