Monks sculpt sand as prayer in Laguna Beach
Monks from Southern India spent a week at the Neighborhood Congregational Church creating a colored sand mandala, a prayer in geometric form. Locals watched and meditated as the design dissolved into the ocean during a Sunday dissolution ceremony reflecting Buddhist beliefs in impermanence.
