Death of Samuel Swift at 56 in city home
Samuel Swift aged 56 years 3 months and 12 days died Sunday morning at his city home from Brights disease and tuberculosis. He leaves a wife and four children. The family had recently moved from Gordon Douglas County. Father Hyacinth conducted the funeral at St Marys church Tuesday morning with burial at Riverside.

Infant Day Dies of Acute Leukaemia in Marshfield Family
William Ernest Day aged 7 months and 13 days died Sunday morning after a three week illness. He was returned from Marshfield hospital two days before death. Rev. Harrison led the funeral at the Day home Monday afternoon and Riverside Cemetery served as the burial site.

Shipping in Western Stock to Darlington Ranch
About 120 Montana steers in five carloads passed through Ladysmith en route to the nearby Darlington ranch sixteen miles south for summer fattening for the Chicago market. G B Pope of Billings has rented the ranch and will ship at least 400 head of cattle and 10 000 sheep this season. Stock now goes through Ladysmith stockyards. the first sheep shipment arrived today.

Commencement exercises for Rusk County Training School were held at the Christian church last evening. The class day exercises were held the night before at the training school. A farewell reception honored Mr and Mrs John Sands, hosted by the Scandinavian Lutheran church, and they received a silverware set as a token of esteem before departing for Clintonville where they will reside.

Ladysmith Firemen Record Mixed Results at Tomahawk Meet
Ladysmith firefighters sent a smaller team to the Tomahawk tournament and placed third in the hose cart race and fourth in the relay coupling. Ralph Drum tied for first in the single men's coupling, then settled for third in the free-for-all race. Ladysmith Becomes Freight Terminal With Owen Link
Ladysmith is now a freight terminal after adding a second local freight to Owen. A local leaves Owen for Ladysmith each morning while another departs Ladysmith for the main line junction. Families of one crew will move here when housing is secured, and trains 901 and 902 known as the scout now tie up at Owen instead of Abbotsford.

Manasha worker suffers severe hand injury at plant
Andrew Coleman lost the thumb and part of the middle finger on his right hand Tuesday at the Menasha Wooden Ware Co plant when a wrench slipped from a nut and struck a parrel saw. Another finger was gashed but not permanently injured.
