Leone Rohrer won the day’s play at the Women's Golf Association of Twin Lakes as a high cold wind kept six competitors. Ella Robinson was the low gross and low net golfer, with the winner determined on holes beginning with O E N and S. Several women will enter the Gulf Coast Sweep stakes at Lake Jackson this Wednesday.

La Marque Junior High, led by Nellwyn Presley, begins Gulf Coast Conference play with four singles and three doubles per match. Competing schools include Blocker Texas City Fry Clear Creek O Connell Galveston and Alvin. After conference play, trophies and an All Conference team will be named. La Marque has 20 players, with both returning and new members. Pre conference scrimmages saw mixed results against Friendswood and Alvin while O Connell defeated the La Marque boys 9-5. The team will host a March 24 25 tournament, with O Connell and Alvin also hosting events.
