Rebels Clinch League Title With Sophomore Duo Wins
The V.F.W. Rebels remain undefeated at 13-0 and lead the league by six games with two to play after sweeping a week featuring a 6-5 opener over Zackie’s Cardinals and a 10-0 win over Medical & Surgical Supply Colts. Brian Jolly homered in the first frame of the latter game as Kenny Gimber pitched four innings of no-hit ball with two walks. Friday saw the Colts defeat the slumping Braves 5-3 while the Texans beat Crescent Electric Yankees 4-2, closing the week with two Rebels wins. Upcoming games: Rebels vs Yankees and Colts vs Cardinals on the 19th. Texans vs Colts and Rebels vs Braves on the 23rd.
