Funeral services held for William Alphonzo Polk 15 of Texas City drowned July 2 after birth June 5 1957 in Houston. Officiated at First United Methodist Church with burial at Mainland Cemetery Hitchcock. Survivors include parents Rev C J Polk Jr four brothers four sisters and grandparents. Also noted Willard Floyd Evans Sr 63 of Houston died July 3 in hospital. Services at Forest Park Lawndale Chapel with graveside by Reagan Masonic Lodge. Evans formerly of Galveston was police chief in Humble and Liberty and held deputy sheriff bailiff roles. Survived by wife Mary Evans two daughters two sons two sisters two brothers and nine grandchildren. Wilbert White 79 retired Tomax Lumber employee died July 3 in Galveston. Funeral in Fields Funeral Home chapel and burial Rising Star Cemetery La Marque. White born August 1 1892 Hungerford lived in Texas City 30 years. Survived by wife Carrie and two stepdaughters plus four brothers and one sister.
