Karen Williams Wins Prissy Missy Contest in Texas City
Karen Williams, daughter of Mr and Mrs C W Williams of Texas City, won the Prissy Missy contest hosted by the La Marque Jaycees and Jaycee-ettes. Patty Slawson and Tracy Wilcox placed second and third, with gift certificates awarded to winners. Judges included Sumner Cragin, J C Mahan, and Mary Whelton. Kathy Nicholson chaired the event with several assistants. Claudia New emceed the event.

Golden Age Meet Held by Mainland Club Pleasant Attendance
The Golden Age Club of the Mainland met with 29 members present on Thursday August 5 in the Coral Reef room of Nessler Civic Center. President Mrs E W Pokluda presided as correspondence included condolences for Mr Anderson and well wishes for Mrs Perry Chaloupka. A social is planned for August 26 at 1:30 pm with a game party and dinner.
